After six years of helping build and lead DeepTech Alliance, Director Thomas Andersen will be stepping down from his role and transitioning out of the organization at the end of June 2025.
Since joining the alliance, Thomas has played a central role in establishing and growing DeepTech Alliance into one of Europe’s leading networks connecting leading deep tech startup hubs, European deep tech startups and international corporates. During this period, the alliance has expanded its membership, launched multiple collaborative business creation programs, strengthened cross-border partnerships, and evolved from a project-based initiative into an independent organization with a strong European identity.
Reflecting on the decision, Thomas comments:
“It has truly been a privilege to help build and develop DeepTech Alliance together with our members and partners over the past six years. I’m incredibly proud of what we have built together — the community, the collaborations, the ambition behind the alliance, and the impact we have created for European deep tech startups. I remain deeply supportive of the mission and the people around the alliance.”
The transition comes at a natural point in the alliance’s development. DeepTech Alliance is currently undertaking a strategic review and exploring the next phase of its evolution, including new initiatives and organizational development.
Chairman Steen Donner comments:
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Thomas for his dedication, leadership, and significant contribution to DeepTech Alliance over the past six years. His efforts have been instrumental in building the alliance into what it is today. We are grateful for his commitment and look forward to continuing our collaboration throughout the transition period.”
Thomas will remain fully engaged through the end of June to support ongoing operations, the strategic review process, and a smooth handover.
The Board remains committed to ensuring continuity and building on the strong foundation that has been created together with members and partners. Further updates regarding the alliance’s future organizational setup and strategic direction will be shared in due course.
DeepTech Alliance would like to thank Thomas for his contribution and wish him all the best in the next chapter of his journey.
